Item 02. Dong-A 3-Zero 0.38
The Story:
I bought one of these amazing pens in the stationary shop/book store in the basement of the Student Building at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. I loved them so much that I wanted more, but sadly I had returned to the States by then. My lovely and beautiful girlfriend ended up buying me 8 of them and bringing them to me upon her return home. Thanks girl! I almost love you as much as I love pens :D
Rating:
Writing - 10/10
Perfect ink flow, no bleeding.
Comfort - 8/10
A little slender, and no rubber grip, but that is usually the style of fine tipped pens.
Durability/Lifeline - 10/10
I've been using my first one for the last 4 months now, and its ink is only halfway depleted.
Appearance/Awesomeness - 9/10
It's a pretty simple design, but they do look different than most pens of the similar style. Plus they are a domestic Korean brand.
Cost - 10/10
Overall - 47/50

Item 01. Avery Hi-Liter
I figured I'd start with the writing instrument that I'm currently using. Going through 4 hours of case briefs and utilizing my favorite highlighter. The Avery Hi-Liter is actually fairly hard to find. I can't recall off the top of my head what major retailers sell these wonderful fluorescent markers, but I know I've had to make a couple stops before I found them.
The main, and basically only, reason I use these, is because they don't bleed. I've tried many highlighters, most of which bleed through the pages, leaving stains on the backside of reading. Others don't bleed through, but don't dry quickly, which then end up staining the previous/next page that it touches when the book/notebook is closed. Such a terrible and annoying mess.
I'll be using a standard American grading scale to rate my posts. This particular item gets a 95. I have nothing to complain about them. Perfection as far as highlighters go. They do their job with no negatives. 5 points off for appearance of the highlighter itself and because they are hard to find. It is very basic in design, whereas there are some other pretty cool looking rival highlighters that show the highlighty juice level. But those are typically the ones that bleed the most.
Rating:
Writing - 10/10
Comfort - 8/10
Could use some rubber grip, but I can't complain too much.
Durability/Lifeline - 10/10
I've been using the same highlighter for the last 2 years.
Appearance/Awesomeness - 2/10
Nothing too awesome to report.
Cost - 9/10
Pretty cheap, came in a 4 pack.
Overall - 39/50
I Am the Pen Snob.
Hello! Welcome art/school supply/stationary lovers!
I am the pen snob. I'm the guy that can't comprehend how people can still use wooden pencils. The guy that uses a pencil bag, in fact I have many. I'm the guy that can twirl his pen in cool ways...and did spend hours learning to do so.
I just started law school and I figured this would be a good way to take a break from the hours of readings that I'll have to do for the next 3 years. I love pens and mechanical pencils. I own many and I'll be blogging about all of them. I've reasoned with myself that buying new, fancy, expensive pens and mechanical pencils is beneficial to me, because it encourages me to do my studies, just so I can use my new writing tools.
Yes I'm a nerd.
Enjoy.
